6 Of The Best Social Media Platforms To Boost Your Video Marketing Strategy.

When you’re getting your brand out there, you need to have social media profiles that are updated consistently.  Videos are one of the ways to get this done that I highly recommend.  Videos should be a big portion of your marketing mix as they get the most engagement on social media platforms in most industries.  When you make a video, you want to make a 30 and  60  second Here are the top 6 social media platforms to boost your video marketing strategy.

YouTube

I listed this one first because it is the 2nd largest search platform after Google.  This is the place your videos need to be available.  The suggested videos algorithm helps you get in front of people that care about your videos in real time.

Google Search

The more popular your video is in a specific topic, the more likely it is to rank high on Google Search for the same topic. This is the happy side effect of posting your video on YouTube that takes your marketing strategy to the next level.

Your Website

When you record videos, it’s best to upload them on YouTube and embed them into your website.  Your website is important to your video marketing strategy because it’s the platform that is dedicated to your brand.  Posting your videos here helps you get more video views from your target audience.  It also keeps them on your website longer, which is great for SEO.   The extra views make your video more popular on YouTube and increase your chances of coming up in the suggested videos algorithm.

Facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter

These are hot places to add your video content on your business page.  If you haven’t started on LinkedIn, you should.  Everyone’s target audience is hanging out on these three networks.  As you learn more about what your target audience expects, you can tailor the content for each platform.

Instagram

Make a 60-second version or GIF about your video and send your audience to the full version of your video on your website.

Vimeo

I recommend this platform for videos you want a higher level of control over, such as video course material.  You can limit the places your video can be shared to and this keeps the theft of your content to a minimum.  This means if your video is accessed from a place that you don’t If you would like to check out Vimeo, here’s a link to sign up.

These are the platforms I use in my business for videos and how to optimize the content for my business.  There is no need to put something on all of them right now, just pick a few to start.  However, it’s best to work your way over to the others over time to make sure you’re targeting your audience on all of the platforms.    We’ve put together a free checklist to help you plan your video marketing strategy.
